ARCHITECTURAL SIGN OF THE YEAR
Sponsored by Alcan Composites
Architectural signs are designed to make a real statement about organisation, building or area they front. Large scale, stand alone signs, they usually combine elements of structural engineering with the skills of the sign maker.
Over the past five years winning signs have been created from a vast array of materials – stainless steel, aluminium, stone and marble. Some have incorporated complex lighting systems while others have been illuminated by simple spots.
Some have stood alone at the entrance to a business park, others have hung on the sides of buildings or at the entrances of shopping malls. Some have been squat shapes signs at ground level while others have been giant monoliths reaching towards the sky.
If you have created and built a sign that fits these criteria, this is the category you should be entering.
